  Exploring Deserted Dairy Farm

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted dairy farm.

There is a Nissen hut, made from a half-cylindrical skin of corrugated iron, used as a
warehouse for a large amount of hay from 30 to 40 years ago, originally used as fodder
for the cows during winter, and numerous milk bottles inside it.

The farm started producing milk in 1958, and stopped production when it sold off the brand
in the early 1980s. The grassland on the hill was turned into a golf course. Reflecting
             the ups
and downs of Hong Kong's animal husbandry, they originally imported American
             dairy
cows and produced milk locally. This was replaced by low-quality milk from the
Mainland after the brand was sold.

 amount of graffiti.

It is known as one of the most haunted spots in this prefecture. Rumour has

Anti-riot Armoured Vehicle at Heart of Hong Kong

An anti-riot, bullet-and-explosion-proof armoured vehicle, dubbed 'Saber-toothed tiger'
with flashing red-and-blue light is parked outside Sogo Department Store at the
heart of Hong Kong's shopping district on Chinese New Year for at least 2 days.
It attracted many people, including curious tourists, to take pictures.

This is not the first time. Similar arrangement were made on October 1, China's
national day; July 1, anniversary of the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong
from UK to China; and June 4, anniversary of the Tiananmen Incident of 1989.

Is there an elevated threat of terrorist attack or an imminent riot? As the
government claims repeatedly that Hong Kong has already moved 'from chaos to rule',
is it necessary to have such disproportionate show of force? Will it scare off
tourists who might think that Hong Kong is a very dangerous place? Is it
spreading the image of a 'Good Hong Kong'?

Cafes on the streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter are very small so the sidewalks
are fully used. Tables and chairs are just plastic ones which are easily

Serving mainly young people, the prices for drinks at these shops are cheap.

tea here while people watching or chatting with friends at the heart of
