Christmas Joy House at Landmark

Enjoy Christmas Joy House at Landmark's atrium, featuring a 28-metre long Christmas
train soaring in the air, a 3.3-metre high Teddy Paws, Dinoshaun, Pink Bobos, a
rainbow-coloured Slinky Slide, VR, interactive games and much, much more.

All proceeds from the merchandise, booths and digital experiences will be donated

Exploring Deserted Intelligence Centre

An avid urban explorer ventures into an deserted ex-British intelligence centre.

Located up the mountains, the complex includes a large main building with a 2-storey
section, a small building and a few sentry houses. It was used to monitor radio signals
from mainland China and has been deserted since 1995. The interior has been
cleared mostly leaving only graffiti on the walls.

Exploring Deserted Barrack & Observation Post

An avid urban explorer ventures into an deserted ex-British army barracks and
observation post.

The 3-storey barrack is located at the peak of a hill. It's roof leads to a helipad, an
observation deck and a microwave transmission tower. The site has been
deserted long before the 1997 handover. The interior has been cleared mostly
leaving only graffiti on the walls.

Exploring Deserted Shipyard

An avid urban explorer ventures into an deserted shipyard.

The massive shipyard includes a 4-storey building. Part of it is used as a warehouse and a
section is used as a movie set. There are lots of graffiti, especially on the rooftop.
There is evidence that a great fire had broke out and many charred items remain, including
burnt vehicles that were totalled. The walls of one of the rooms is painted red, probably
for a movie set.

Santas' Party 2021

Ho Ho Ho! Santas' Party Hong Kong 2021 kicked off on Saturday, 18 December at
Rula Live bar in Lai Kwai Fong, Cebtral at 7 pm. Hundreds dressed in red
Santa suits, Christmas trees and other related costumes, joined the festivities.
Donations were made to the charity LOVE21.

Exploring Abandoned Army Depot

An avid urban explorer ventures into an abandoned ex-British army depot.

The single-storey roadside depot was located in the mountains. It is painted
army-green colour on the exterior and has a row of distinctive square windows.
It was likely used for logistics support for an intelligence centre nearby
and has been long abandoned before the 1997 handover. The interior has been
cleared mostly leaving only graffiti on the walls.

Exploring Deserted 1940s Historic Mansion

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted mansion.

Constructed in 1940s, the 2-storey mansion was built with red bricks in Art Deco style.
It was used as a girls' dormitory for a historical training institute and is part
of a building complex which was the former villa of General Cai Tingjie who led the
Nineteenth Corps against the Japanese invasion between 1936 and the early 1940s.
The main building of the complex is a declared monument since 2004.

Heritage Building at 60 Hollywood Road

Land records show that the leases on Nos. 60, 62 and 64 Hollywood Road commenced
in the 1850s. There may have been earlier buildings on site which they replaced.
Judging by their appearance, the current buildings were built in the 1920s. No. 60 is a
3-storey residential building with saleable area ranging from 581 to 636 sq ft.

For over 6 decades, Kung Lee Sugar Cane Juice, a herbal tea shop stands at No. 60 on
the corner of Hollywood Road and Peel Street. It also sells tortoise jelly and sugar
cane juice. The current owner, Mr Tsui, is a fourth generation member of his
family to run it. He grows his own sugar cane in Ping Shan, Yuen Long, and uses a
30-year-old steel roll press to extract its juice.

Exploring Deserted Primary School

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted primary school.

The school was founded by Hakka preachers and villagers in 1913 as a Study Hall
to teach Hakka dialect. In 1924 the school was established and became the
first subsidised primary school in the New Territories.

The 2-storey school has expanded 4 times to 24 classes and about 1,000 students
at its heyday. Owing to declining birth rate and insufficient students, it
was closed in 2007 and has been deserted since. Furniture and many other items
are found scattered throughout the school.

'Red Silk of Fate – The Shrine' at deTour 2021

The deTour 2021, Hong Kong's largest design festival, returns at PMQ with 3 main
interactive exhibitions presented via 37 workshops and 12 design dialogues online
and real-life. The theme is ‘Use(fu)less’ and runs from Nov 26 to Dec 12.

Highlights include an international collaboration by Japanese artist Sputniko! and local
Napp Studio & Architects entitled ‘Red Silk of Fate – The Shrine’.

The contemporary ‘Love Shrine’ is composed of silk that glows and emits oxytocin,
a social-bonding love hormone, and woven into intertwining fabrics. Bathed in
artificial moonlight, the shrine is a spiritual space where faiths, intentions,
emotions and wishes intertwine. Visitors are invited to contemplate love
and bonding in a time of social distancing.

Exploring Abandoned Dairy Farm

An avid urban explorer ventures into a manure pit of an abandoned dairy farm.

At its peak the dairy farm had around 50 cowsheds on 300 acres of farmland. The farm
closed in the 1970s and many parts of it became the housing estates but there are
still decaying cattle sheds, piggeries, manure pits, paddocks and stream
crossings on the peripheries.

Historic Tsang Tai Uk

Tsang Tai Uk in Shatin is one of Hong Kong's best-preserved walled villages.
Built in 1847 by stonemason Tsang Koon-man, the compound was home to the
Tsang clan, a Hakka family that had migrated to Hong Kong in the 17th century.

You can still see the original granite, bricks and timber used to build the village.
Guard towers were built on each of the four corners to protect against pirates,
who ran rampant in Hong Kong until the early 20th century. This is still a living
village, but visitors are allowed to explore the courtyard and the ancestral hall.
It is rated as a Grade I historic building.

Exploring Deserted Cement Plant and Jetty

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted cement plant.

The plant opened in 1980 and closed in 2001, and was built on reclaimed land.
The deserted site includes a huge warehouse and a 2-storey building used as
dormitory for the workers. Part of the roof of the warehouse has collapsed.
Some graffiti is found on the walls. Furniture and other items have been
cleared from the dormitory. There is a jetty with a cement unloader,
berthing and mooring for distribution.

The Most Atmospheric Road in Hong Kong

Glenealy Road, located in the Mid-levels on the Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, is one of
the steepest roads in Hong Kong with public transport. It has a gradient of 1:5 in
the Robinson Road to Conduit Road section.

It starts from Ice House Street in Central and goes uphill to Hong Kong Zoological
and Botanical Gardens, across Robinson Road and ends at Hornsey Road and
Conduit Road. Access to the pedestrian section, covered and curving in the
most atmospheric manner, is via a spiral staircase.

Exploring Deserted Century-old Mansion

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted century-old mansion.

Built in 1920, the 2-storey-high mansion is made of reinforced concrete and granite.
The front porch is decorated with classical columns. The roof has a triangular eaves wall
where the name of the mansion is engraved. During the Japanese Occupation (1941-1945),
it was occupied by the Japanese army and was still rented out after the war.

2 flights of stairs give access to the courtyard. The mansion became deserted in the 1970s
and was rated as a Grade III historic building in 2010.

Exploring Deserted Mansion from 1950

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted mansion.

The mansion, built in 1950, is a single house of 2 storeys high and designed in Western style, with
a nett area of 6,177 sq ft. 2 external staircases provide access to the first floor. The mansion has many
windows that are all boarded up. Furniture and personal items are scattered throughout the mansion.
There are exquisite tiles on all the exterior walls, and a row of potted plants in front of the garden.

Batting in Cricket Game

An Indian man is batting in a cricket game at Shamshuipo Park, a regular playground for the South
Asians from the neighbourhood.

Cricket is the most popular sport in India by far, and is played almost everywhere in the country.
The British brought cricket to India in the early 1700s, with the first cricket match played in 1721.
In 1848, the Parsi community in Bombay formed the Oriental Cricket Club, the first cricket club
to be established by Indians.

Exploring Deserted Luxury Apartments at Mid-levels

An avid urban explorer ventures into a deserted luxury apartment complex at Mid-levels.

The apartment complex was completed in 1982 with a total area of 22,000 sq ft.
There are 6 blocks and 22 residential units. Each unit's saleable area ranges from
1,512 to 3,221 sq ft. There is an outdoor swimming pool. In 2020, a consortium
purchased all the units in the estate for about $1.8 billion. Furniture and
personal items remain in a few units but most units have been cleared.

Exploring Deserted Seminary Entangled with Roots

An avid urban explorer ventures into an deserted seminary with a colonnaded veranda that
offers expansive seaviews.

There are 2 buildings hidden behind trees and bushes, with roots entangling the structure.
One of the buildings appears to be a dormitory with a room of broken bunk beds, which has
been cleared now.

A third building is found further down the slope. But uncertain if it belongs to the
same compound.

Historic Tai Wai Tau Village House

Tai Wan Tau is a small village in Sai Kung established by the Laus and Chows during the
Wanli reign (1573-1620) of Ming Dynasty.

House No. 23 of the village was built by Lau Shing-fung before 1907. It was rebuilt by
Lau Mau-cheong in this present form in 1949. The 2-storey residence has a balustrated
balcony on the first floor and a semicircular gable on the roof with a sun symbol.
