  Commemorating the Battle of Hong Kong
 
 Thirty volunteers of a local history and culture group Watershed,
 dressed as soldiers of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps
 (HKVDC) to re-enact the Battle of Hong Kong during the Second
 World War to remind people about the history on its 75th anniversary.
 
 Hong Kong troops, together with British, Canadian, Chinese and
 Portuguese units spent 18-days attempting to fend off the invading
 Japanese army, starting on 8 December 1941. The city surrendered
 on Christmas Day followed by three years and eight months
 of dark days under Japanese occupation.

  Abbey of St Gall
 
 The Cathedral and Abbey of Saint Gall, Stiftskirche, was founded
 by Saint Othmar, the founder of the Abbey of St Gall. Its twin
 towers were design in Baroque style.
 
 The Abby Library, Stiftsbibliothek, whose collection is the oldest
 in Switzerland and is one of the oldest in the world. It holds
 2,100 manuscripts dating back to the 8th through the 15th centuries,
 and with the monastary complex, were made a World Heritage Site in 1983.

  RongRong & inri: Tsumari Story
 
 Tsumari Story, an exhibition of selected photographs by the influential
 husband-and-wife artist duo RongRong & inri, who received the Outstanding
 Contribution to Photography prize at the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards.
 
 Produced over a period of two years, from 2012-2014, the Tsumari Story
 series taken during the 2012 Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial in Niigata
 Prefecture, Japan and depicts their experiences and emotional journey
 living in a unique and rural area with their three sons. On show at

  Emmanuel Pratt Transforms Chicago's South Side
 
 Emmanuel Pratt, Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Sweet
 Water Foundation and Director of Aquaponics for Chicago State
 University, found his community at the South side of Chicago
 devastated by poverty and crime.
 
 Dilapidated old houses were fixed up with colourful murals by
	    local artists.
 
 In 2011, the Foundation partnered with Chicago State University to
 set up an extensive aquaponics system, using technologies to grow
 food in urban agricultural and ecologically inspired projects, to
 rebuild the community through education, collaboration and outreach.

 Dutch designer Marije Vogelzang invented a new design field for her
 unique work: 'eating design' - sharing, transporting, preparing,
 and growing food.
 
 Marije's spin on a Christmas dinner is simply pulling up the sides
 of a tablecloth and cutting slits for guests' arms and heads. The
 dinner becomes much more intimate with a confined space and an
 equalizing affair as the diners' clothing no longer set them apart.
