Reliefs on the Wall of Great Temple of Ramses II

Great Temple of Ramses II

Carved out of the mountain on the west bank of the Nile between 1274 and 1244 BC,
Ramses II's imposing temple is fronted by four colossal statutes of the deified pharaoh that
are over 20m high. The inner left statute collapsed and the head and upper body lie under its feet.
