Project Homeless Connect (PHC)
is an initiative by Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco to improve access to services
for the homeless in the city. Thousands of volunteers, businesses and non-profit communities work together to provide services.
At PHC 11, a record number of homeless people, 2,358, were served by 2,124 volunteers, also a record.
Free housing, food, clothing, medical care, ID cards, phone calls and other services were available.
2,000 pairs of new shoes were distributed.
